Professional of the Year

Nick Szymanski Named Professional of the Year in the Toledo Chapter of the PGA of America

img_20150406_111508694.jpegSouth Toledo Golf would like to congratulate Nick Szymanski, Director at Golf of South Toledo Golf Club and Vice President of Master Golf Managemnet, for earning the distinction of Professional of the Year in the Toledo Chapter of the PGA of America. This distinction is an honor Nick Szymanski has now won twice during his career as a PGA Class A Professional. The 2014 season was a highlight for Nick who qualified for the 2015 PGA Professional National Championship (also for the second time) and won the 2014 Toledo Chapter PGA Championship.

"I am extremely proud of Nick. This award, which is voted on by his peers, validates all the hard work he has put into his career and growing the game of golf." said Greg Fish, Owner, South Toledo Golf Club.

Nick was introduced to the game early. Born and raised in Toledo, OH, Nick began working at South Toledo Golf Club as a teenager and then earned a degree from the University of Toledo before becoming a Class A Professional in the PGA of America back in 1999. His dedication to growing the game can be see through the numerous golf instructional programs Nick oversaw year-round at both the course, in the popular GOLFDOME that was located at South Toledo Golf Club, and the hundreds of new golfers he introduced to the game over the years.

Nick currently serves as a Member of the Executive Board of the Toledo Junior Golf Association and served as President from 2005-2007.

An 18 hole course built in 1925 was designed originally to be a country club which accounts for undulating greens that are well protected by 41 bunkers. The course is covered by several thousand trees, some over 75 years old. Five sets of tees give every golfer the challenge in length to use virtually every club in your bag.
